GoGeomatics Announcing a new Meetup group in Victoria, BC

GoGeomatics is thrilled to announce the start of  a new networking social in Victoria

GoGeomatics Group networking events are free and open to everyone from all areas of geomatics – business owners, professionals, students, and job seekers. We discuss GEO-related topics such as jobs, careers, technologies, remote sensing, surveying, and geomatics.

I think it is good for the geospatial community to have a regular networking opportunity this free and open is that it allows for people who are either in a geospatial field, considering pursuing geospatial, or just those interested in geo to come and see/talk about what’s happening, trends, challenges and opportunities without having to worry about commitment or a paywall to deter them.  –Steve Guiry, GIS Technologist for the Town of View Royal

To stay updated on the upcoming socials, please join the Victoria Meetup Group

Kenneth Ang & Steve Guiry – Victoria GoGeomatics Group leaders

Without our wonderful group leaders, none of these events would’ve possible. We love our volunteers! Their dedication has been an inspiration for all us; from organizing the events to keeping their local Geospatial community engaged. Here’s what our Victoria Group Leaders had to say about their interest in starting this new group and joining the GoGeomatics Team:

“Hi, my name is Steve Guiry. I am a GIS Technologist for the Town of View Royal. I moved to Victoria a couple of years ago and was looking for a way to meet like-minded people and figured GoGeomatics was the way to do so in an informal setting. I think it is good for the geospatial community to have a regular networking opportunity for those in the geospatial field, considering pursuing geospatial, or just interested in the geotrends, challenges and opportunities.” Steve Guiry

“Hi, I’m Kenneth Ang and I’m a Project Manager and Geomatics Lead at Terra Remote Sensing where I’m establishing a UAV unit and overseeing all ground surveying activities. As someone passionate about all things Geospatial, starting the GoGeomatics meet up in Victoria will provide this city an outlet for students, professionals and technical staff from all industries to connect about upcoming technologies, show case their latest projects, problem solve and discuss career development.” – Kenneth Ang
