New competition in Geomatics and GIS with 20,000$ in prizes for best maps

Agorize and HERE Technologies launches their Mapathon Map your World!,  an online competition for everyone interested in creating maps, GIS and Geomatics.

We invite all Canadians to participate in our virtual contest to make a map. Create unique maps either using your own data or publicly available data. Best of all, no technical skills are required. Even people without coding skills can make their own custom maps using our easy to use tool – HERE XYZ.

Your first challenge is to describe briefly what information you would like to visualize on your future map that could be beneficial for you, your travel community, your city or society at large. If you are selected, you’ll be guided by mentors to generate map(s) using HERE XYZ.  Participants of the challenge have a chance to win:

  • $10,000 USD for the winner
  • Total cash prizes of $20,000 USD
  • Mentoring on how to make great maps

To get started, register now: http://bit.ly/CanadaMaps.

Registration closes November 3rd

About HERE XYZ

HERE XYZ is a product that provides a set of tools to easily visualize data on a map. You can create your own custom maps and tell a powerful story on travel. You don’t need to be a developer! Anyone, without any technical skills can use the intuitive Studio web app. If you are a developer, we have tools for you as well – a command line interface and a RESTful API. Simply find a location dataset that is meaningful to you and upload it to the XYZ cloud. Then you will be on your way to customizing with colors, shapes, markers and much more.
