GoGeomatics Canada heads to Amsterdam for Geospatial World Forum April 2nd-4th 2019

GoGeomatics is going to Europe!

GoGeomatics founder Jonathan Murphy is heading to Amsterdam for the Geospatial World Forum, April 2nd-4th.

The Geospatial World Forum is an annual gathering of geospatial professionals that represent the entire geospatial ecosystem, including public policy, national mapping agencies, private sector enterprises, multilateral and development organizations, scientific and academic institutions, and end users from government, businesses, and citizen services. The Forum attracts over 1500 professionals, 500 organizations, and has been held in 70 countries to date.

I’m looking forward to this immensely.  I will be meeting Sanjay Kumar and Keith Masback for the first time face to face. Both are global giants as thought leaders in the geospatial and we are really lucky to have them as speakers for our inaugural GeoIgnite 2019 Conference and trade show in Ottawa this June.  It’s simply one of the very best location technology events anywhere in the world.  -Jonathan Murphy

The Geospatial World Forums attracts exhibitors like Business Geografic, cyclomedia, ESRI, Excel Geomatics, and Hexagon. Speakers for 2019 include Stefan Schweinfest, Director of the Statistics Division at the United Nations; Dorine Burmanje, Chair of Executive Board of Kadaster; Dr. Virginia Burkett, Chief Scientist of Climate and Land Use Change at the American Geological Survey; Ede Jorge Ijjasz-Vasquez, Senior Director of Social, Urban, Rural and Resilience Global Practice with the World Bank; and notably the welcoming address will by given in part by Sanjay Kumar, Chief Executive Officer at Geospatial Media & Communications, who will also be speaking at GeoIgnite 2019 this coming June.

This year’s event is taking place at the Taets Art and Event Park, Amsterdam, under the theme of “Empowering Billions”. The Fourth Industrial Revolution is driven by AI, Big Data, IoT, and Robotics, and it is drawing attention to the central role of geospatial in our daily lives. The Geospatial World Forum is making “geographic information a common language” for people across the world. Jonathan is looking forward to participating in this world class geospatial event.
