Join Kitchener-Waterloo GoGeomatics for their May social event, where Meetup member David van Riel will be speaking on how the City of Kitchener has been implementing the digital submission of various features from development consultants over the past few years.
The City of Kitchener has been implementing the digital submission of various features from development consultants for several years. The previous method of capturing the data will be explained along with the reasons for changing to digital submission. 3 digital submission checkers were initially created to check for CAD standards, attributes, and topology. The digital submission method has improved/changed over time. David will be explaining were the city is now and their plans for the future.

About David van Riel:
David van Riel has a BA in Geography from Carleton University and and GIS diploma from Algonquin College. In his career he has worked with everything from satellite imagery, to conversion of paper maps into digital data, to large amounts of datasets. He has been with the City of Kitchener’s Geospatial and Data Analytics (formerly GIS) section for 13.5 years and is currently a GIS Technologist. While he may deal with any type of data on any given day, he works mostly with infrastructure data.
