Another Great Night at the Vancouver GoGeomatics Social
Vancouver had it’s largest GoGeomatics Social ever last night, with 60 geomatics professionals and new grads coming together at the Kingston Taphouse for a few drinks, a few snacks, and a memorable evening.
This group came together to network and learn about the latest technologies that are shaping the geomatics industry today, from guest speaker Brad Schmidt of Intergraph Canada. This was the first time the Vancouver group has had a speaker, and it was so interesting to hear about their projects in point clouds for flood modeling, UAVs for local area mapping, and more.
We would like to thank everyone who stopped by for last night’s social. We hope to see you all again for our future socials – they take place every month! A big shout out to the graduating class of the BCIT GIS program who came out in huge numbers. Thanks for your ongoing support, and good luck in this exciting new phase of your careers!
We would also like to thank our volunteer group leaders, and the newest members to the volunteer team Catherine Ennis and Jennifer Gingras. The passion and dedication of our group leaders makes all of this possible.
Finally, a big thank you to Intergraph Canada for sponsoring the evening and providing us all with some yummy munchies, and to Brad Schmidt for giving us a lot to think about.
Wow, you had a great venue for it.
