Canadian Remote Sensing Training: Summer School – Montreal 19 June 2017
The Earth Observation (EO) Summit 2017 brings together in one exceptional event the 38th Canadian Symposium on Remote Sensing (CSRS), the 17th Congress of the Association Québécoise de Télédétection (AQT), the 11th Advanced SAR (ASAR) Workshop and the 51st Workshop of the Association de Géomatique Municipale du Québec (AGMQ). This EO Summit 2017 is an international event to be held in Montréal from 20 to 22 June 2017. It aims to assemble several communities interested in Earth Observation (EO), its technologies, its applications and its societal benefits.
Training on remote sensing applications and technologies will be offered on June 19th. An ice-breaker event will be held on the evening of June 20th while a dinner banquet is offered on June 21st. A student program will foster student – employers networking and offer travel grants.

I’d like to learn a little more about who this Summer School event on June 19th is aimed at. I’m just beginning to teach intro-level Remote Sensing in our program, but am not an RS person myself, so am looking for useful info, training resources, etc. both for myself and for my students. And, the overall conference itself, I presume it is aimed at established RS practitioners, as opposed to someone like myself?

Hello again, Jon. Have investigated and hope to attend the Summer School.
Another question: Re: “A UAV demonstration and competition is also presented on June 19th in nearby Saint-Amable (Qc). Transportation is included, departing from the Conference venue.”, I presume that this is what is listed under Registration as the “Dronelympics”. A colleague of mine might like to attend this event. He would not be attending the general conference, so would he be permitted to pay the $50 fee and attend this?
