Field Data Collection @ GoGeomatics Toronto April Social: Speaker Series
April 29 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Speaker Series: Join Cansel’s Michael Majik for our April social! This month’s social is taking place on Monday, April 29th (7:00PM) at Betty’s On King (Upstairs!).
Choosing the right equipment for the right job is key, as is choosing those which may be more cost-effective solutions. Michael will be showing what forms of technology there is for field data collection. He will explain the what, the how, and the why of many kinds of equipment for a variety of data collection needs.
Speaker: With over 11 years of experience in the GIS and mapping field, Michael Majik started his career at Nipissing University. Obtaining a bachelor’s in Environmental Geography, Michael moved on to specialize in geospatial management at Niagara College. Combining the two degrees to become more robust in the entire workflow of any GIS related project.
Starting his career at Enghouse, Michael excelled within the Data Services division. Helping provide support to major oil and gas pipeline companies such as Koch and Enterprise. He also worked closely with York Region on projects in conjunction with Enghouse’s research and development division. From there, he also has worked for Canada Post’s targeted marketing GIS team and Hydro One’s connectivity group. With this background, Michael knows the importance of accurate and proper field data collection in the world of utilities, and how to create an efficient workflow for project completion.
These monthly socials are a chance to network with others in the geomatics field to chat all things GIS, remote sensing, surveying, and more in a casual atmosphere. They’re always fun, and always free. See you there!
Please RSVP to let us know you’re attending.
