DESCRIPTION:A Free Python programming online course hosted by Stanford University \nWe are happy to announce that we are going to run Code in Place 2021. Join us for the next offering as either a student (apply by April 8th) or as a section leader (apply by March 25th)! Applications for section leaders are now open! \nIs this the course with the most teachers ever? In 2020\, at the start of the pandemic\, as an act of community service over 900 teachers from around the world came together to offer a first-of-its-kind volunteer-led course called Code in Place\, hosted by Stanford University. Code in Place was a great\, uplifting\, learning experience and over 10\,000 students learned how to code in python. It was such a good time we are going to do it again in April 2021. Applications for students open on April 2nd!

There is growing interest in LiDAR technology for mapping natural disasters\, forestry\, flood mapping\, and much more\, Join us for a 3 day online\nconference where we explore LiDAR and other mapping techniques.\n\nTo learn more about the conference click here\n\nContact Conference organizing committee here\n\n\n\nConference Keynote Presenters\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDr. Tim Webster\nHis research focus is mapping and modeling processes in the coastal zone. \nIn 2017 he was presented with the Geomatics Association of Nova Scotia Award of Distinction\, in 2010 the Gulf of Maine Council Visionary Award. He obtained his PhD from Dalhousie University in 2006\, MSc from Acadia University in 1996\, an Advanced Diploma in Remote Sensing in 1988\, and a BSc in 1987. \nHis group has focused on research utilizing an airborne topo-bathymetric lidar sensors where they visualize 3-D data in virtual reality and mixed reality systems to aid in a better understanding of the data and environment. \nYou can find out more about his research work with the Applied Geomatics Research Group \n\n\n\n\n\nAnita Graser\nAnita Graser is a researcher\, open source GIS developer\, and author. \nShe works at the Austrian Institute of Technology in Vienna\, teaches Python for QGIS at UNIGIS Salzburg and serves on the QGIS project steering committee. She has published several books about QGIS\, including “Learning QGIS” and “QGIS Map Design”. Her latest project is MovingPandas\, a Python library for analyzing movement data. \nYou can find out more about her work on anitagraser.com and follow her on Twitter @underdarkGIS. \n\n\n\n\n\nDr. Steve Liang\nSteve Liang is a researcher\, teacher and entrepreneur. Steve is the founder and CTO of SensorUp\, offering a NATO-award winning Geospatial IoT cloud platform that interconnects the world’s IoT data empowering the connected workers of the future to apply intelligent automation for productivity\, safety\, quality\, and job satisfaction. \nDr. Liang is a global influencer on the Internet of Things\, and he is the working group chair of several international standard working groups of the Open Geospatial Consortium and UN’s ITU-T. Additionally\, he is a professor and research chair at the University of Calgary\, director of the GeoSensorWeb Laboratory\, and a lab scientist of the Creative Destruction Lab. \nSteve was recently named the Rogers IoT Research Chair\, a five-year research chair position sponsored by Rogers Communications. DESCRIPTION:With the new way of life and changing norms during and post pandemic\, businesses and companies are striving to improve their operational efficiencies to provide customer satisfaction. With COVID-19’s immediate impact on the supply chain and logistics industry\, companies are now trying to ‘redefine’ the management of the entire supply chain model. In today’s digital era\, it is imperative for companies to reimagine the relationships with suppliers to promote partnerships as opposed to traditional supply relationships and give rise to innovation. It is crucial to understand the requirements from first mile to the last mile deliveries in a supply chain model. Within this context\, digital technologies such as location intelligence (LI)\, AI\, IoT\, blockchain and machine learning is being used to promote visibility\, tracking\, and forecasting of the products. Thus\, LI becoming an integral part of business across the supply chain and logistics is no exception.
