DESCRIPTION:We’re holding a one-day event across several time zones on November 22nd bringing the humanitarian open mapping community together.\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout this event\n\n\nJOIN US TO EXPLORE THE EVOLUTION OF LOCAL HUMANITARIAN MAPPING ECOSYSTEMS \nOn November 22\, 2021\, HOT will host a global community meeting. The entire humanitarian OpenStreetMap community is welcome to come together to showcase projects\, discuss and share ideas\, and better understand community\, collaboration\, and contribution. Join us to hear about this evolution\, where we’ve come from\, and where we’re going! \nWhat is the Humanitarian OpenStreetMap Summit? \nNow in its seventh year\, the Humanitarian OpenStreetMap Summit brings together people from around the world working to make open geographic data available to improve the places they live and work through OpenStreetMap. \nSessions will be a mix of truly interactive discussions\, debates\, and lightning talks\, with plenty of space and time for meeting fellow humanitarian OpenStreetMap community members\, hacking\, talking\, and collaborating. \nShould I attend? \nWhether you’re a humanitarian or development professional\, community builder\, educator\, geographer\, journalist\, philanthropist\, software developer\, volunteer mapper\, or want to learn more about open data and OpenStreetMap and it’s applications in development and disaster interventions–you’re invited and welcome! \nWhere will the Humanitarian OpenStreetMap Summit be? \nThis year’s Summit will be held on the virtual event platform\, Hopin\, on November 22\, 2021 across three time zones\, similar in format to the 2020 virtual Summit. More details coming soon! \nWhat’s the difference between PLUS & Free Registrations? \nThis year\, we’re offering a LIMITED NUMBER of PLUS registrations\, an option to enhance the feel of the conference and contribute to the sustainability of the Summit. This PLUS paid registration will enable you to attend all the same community talks and sessions as a free registration\, but also get a personal swag pack sent straight to you with custom 2021 HOT Summit swag items.
