He will cover key considerations for accuracy and safety—such as hazard avoidance\, data validation\, and regulatory compliance—and share real-world challenges from his marine geomatics projects. \nArthur is a geomatics professional with experience in marine surveys in Hong Kong before relocating to Canada. He is passionate about using GIS to tackle complex challenges in marine environments. \nFrom here\, we have a 6:45 reservation at BNA Brewing\, 1250 Ellis St. The reservation name is under Dianne or GoGeomatics. If you can’t make the library part\, you’re still welcome to join for the pub social. \nGoGeomatics is a networking event to welcome students\, professionals\, and academics in the field of geomatics in a casual environment.\nCome out and have some drinks with other students\, peers and professionals. The conference is aimed at researchers at all stages\, from undergraduates to retired faculty and all types of educational institutions\, from community colleges to universities and research institutes. SKI has been important to researchers\, allowing them to share their research ideas and identify potential graduate students. Each paper will be reviewed by the Program Committee and feedback will be provided to the authors. Accepted papers will be published in the SKI conference proceedings via Zenodo. DESCRIPTION:Grrrr… lousy Smarch weather… but that just means it’s a perfect night to get indoors with the geomatics crowd. \nGoGeomatics returns to Vancouver on the third Wednesday of the third month\, and the turnout this season has been fantastic. Whether this is your first meetup or your fiftieth\, you’re welcome to bring a colleague\, a classmate\, or a curious friend and come join the conversation. \nThese evenings are informal by design: no presentations\, no pressure\, just people from across the geospatial community meeting face to face. Expect a mix of GIS professionals\, surveyors\, students\, developers\, remote sensing folks\, and people simply trying to understand what all those maps and satellites are actually doing.
