SUMMARY:2022 Canadian Hydrographic Conference (CHC2022)
DESCRIPTION:Welcome to Gatineau-Ottawa\n\n\nDear participants welcome to beautiful Gatineau-Ottawa region. It is an honour and a privilege for me to serve as Chairman of the 2022 Canadian Hydrographic Conference (CHC2022). CHC is the biennial conference hosted by the Canadian Hydrographic Association (CHA). It is the premier hydrographic conference in North America\, alternating yearly with the US Hydrographic Conference of The Hydrographic Society of America (THSOA)\, a friend and a partner. \nThis gathering is a pivotal occasion to meet players and stakeholders in hydrography from North America and worldwide. Today\, this gathering is located in Gatineau\, on the Ottawa River\, a tributary of the central part of the 3500 kilometres long navigation system Great Lakes – Gulf of St. Lawrence. The River portion\, and the Sea portion (also named Gulf of St. Lawrence)\, is recognized for the navigation challenges it offers. These challenges have resulted in Canada being known as a nursery for excellent ideas and hydrographic innovations leading and serving to guide the evolution of international standards. CHC2022 (www.chc2022.org) with its scientific program\, informative vendor displays\, and topical keynote speakers will provide you with numerous learning opportunities. During this four day event\, you will have the chance to discuss different issues related to hydrography. From dynamic objects to crowdsourcing\, to ASVs to hydrospace\, you will note the dynamic evolution leading to “A World transformed”. \nAlthough this will be an occasion to learn and do business\, make sure to take time to explore and visit this beautiful host region. Whether on the Quebec side or the Ontario side\, several interesting attractions await you. Gatineau\, known for its quality of life\, offers you\, among other things\, its Museum of Civilization and its magnificent National Park with its rivers\, lakes\, hiking and cycling trails. Ottawa\, Canada’s capital\, stands its legendary parliament in front of you and offers\, among other things\, a beautiful little central market\, several museums\, as well as the Rideau Canal\, a UNESCO’s World Heritage Site. \nThis conference would not be possible without your support to the Canadian Hydrographic Association (CHA). A small group of volunteers run the CHA and work hard to keep it alive and offer you this great event every second year. The continuing success of this conference depends on you\, our existing and future members\, who take the time to pay your annual membership dues on our web site (www.hydrography.ca). It is a minimal amount of money\, but it keeps the wheels turning. In closing\, I wish you vibrant and lively discussions all week long. \nFinally\, take the opportunity to visit this very beautiful region\, extend your stay and take a vacation to visit Quebec and Ontario\, the two most populous provinces of Canada. Enjoy your week and let’s have a great conference!

DESCRIPTION:On behalf of the French Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (SFPT) and of French organizing committee\, it will be our great pleasure to host you for the XXIVth ISPRS Congress in my home town of Nice from 6-11 June 2022. Nice\, the cosmopolitan and multicultural capital of the French Riviera\, is the ideal place to host an unforgettable ISPRS Congress. Nice is an outstanding location between sea and mountains where culture and heritage meet with the cutting edge technology of Sophia Antipolis\, the French Silicon Valley. \nHalf a dozen exciting keynotes are scheduled and will give an overall status and trends of the science and technologies in all the areas of ISPRS. More than 1500 papers will be presented in the various scientific tracks and sessions over the week. In addition to these presentations\, the participants will also have the possibility to interact and network face to face with the authors in poster sessions.  In order to help the registered participants to choose the sessions and the presentations to build their own program during the week\, pre-recorded video presentations of the papers will made accessible before the beginning of the event through the digital platform of this event. These videos and the recordings of all live sessions will enrich the new ISPRS media library and will be made Open-Access three months after the event. \nThis congress also integrates a strong technology track enabling the industry to present in oral presentations its latest innovations and technologies in complement of a large industry exhibition that will gather the major players of the geospatial business. A geospatial prospective forum will also address hot topics of our community in order to draw recommandations. \nThis rich program will enable the participants to remain at the state-of-the-art on the currents trends in science\, technology & business and will also give them opportunity to meet and network with a very large number of experts\, and to cross-fertilize with colleagues coming from neighboring fields! \nWith our strict hygiene concept\, we are confident that we will be able to safely host you in Nice to allow you to network and to meet old and new colleagues and friends. We will nevertheless offer remote participation for those who prefer not to travel. \nThe French organizing team is really looking forward to meet you in person in Nice!

SUMMARY:International Fall School in Hydrographic Surveying
DESCRIPTION:The crucial role of detailed knowledge of the seabed has never been so well highlighted as recently with the proclamation by the United Nations of the Decade of Ocean Sciences for Sustainable Development (2021 – 2030) or the Nippon Foundation – GEBCO Seabed 2030 project aiming at 100% of the seabed mapped worldwide by 2030. Such an intensification of hydrographic surveys brings new opportunities in terms of recruitment of Highly Qualified Personnel (HQP) as well as technological and methodological solutions. \nNow in its second year\, this international fall school provides participants with a unique multi-disciplinary training experience\, involving close interaction with high-level scientists\, professional and stakeholders from the hydrospatial and maritime fields in a cutting-edge technological context. Participants will have the opportunity to deepen their knowledge and develop their competencies through courses\, practical work\, conferences and activities allowing them to live the experience of surveying on board a hydrographic vessel. \n*Bilingual school (French and English) and offered in a hybrid mode (on campus at Université Laval and online). \nThis international fall school is part of the Canadian Ocean Mapping Research and Education Network (COMREN).
