SUMMARY:All you need to know about the performance of Europe’s Global Navigation Satellite System
DESCRIPTION:Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) provide services to billions of users around the world for various applications. This has resulted in the need for monitoring the performance of GNSS as part of the service provision under responsibility of the service provider or as part of the need of specific users’ groups. \n  \nThis webinar will introduce: \n\n the Galileo programme needs for performance monitoring\n the Galileo services as defined in service definition documents (SDD)\nthe Minimum Performance Levels (MPLs)\, the SDD presents the targets for services and defines the conditions under which such MPLs can be reached\nKey Performance Indicator (KPI) which are quantifiable measures used to evaluate the performance\npublicly available data\, products and tools which can be used for GNSS monitoring\na set of monitoring and assessment guidelines for the implementation of a solution able to monitor the Galileo system performance based on publicly available data\, products\, and tools.\n\nDraft agenda is available here. \nTo register click here.

SUMMARY:Modern Health GIS – Supporting the spectrum from understanding to action
DESCRIPTION:The Department of Community Health Sciences and the O’Brien Institute for Public Health present: \nModern Health GIS – Supporting the spectrum from understanding to action \nMaps and spatial analysis are delivering greater understanding across health disciplines and increasing awareness of impacted populations and resources needs. Planning tools\, mobile tools\, real-time monitoring and new communication tools in applied health geography help move organizations from understanding to data-driven action. This presentation will review the range of modern tools and methods in geographic information systems (GIS) technology for health. \nObjectives: \n\nLearners will gain an appreciation for the range of applications for applied health geography.\nLearners will be able to apply a logical workflow model to various spatial problems.\nLearners will discover how spatial overlay can support consensus in policy decisions.\n\nSpeaker Biography: \nDr. Geraghty is the Chief Medical Officer at Esri\, developer of the world’s most powerful mapping and analytics platform. She leads business development in Health and Human Services and is passionate about delivering value thru a geographic approach. Formerly a Deputy Director with the California Department of Public Health\, she led the state’s open data initiative. She also served as Associate Professor at the University of California Davis\, conducting research on geographic approaches to health policy and community development. In addition to degrees in Medicine\, Medical Informatics and Public Health\, Dr. Geraghty is also a Geographic Information Systems Professional (GISP).
