DESCRIPTION:Details\n\n\n\n\n\nWe will be having a presentation by Arthur Chum called Leveraging GIS in Sea Surveys: Data Integration and Real-World Challenges. \nArthur will discuss how GIS is used in sea surveys to collect and integrate data from sources like bathymetry\, seismic surveys\, and environmental data. He will cover key considerations for accuracy and safety—such as hazard avoidance\, data validation\, and regulatory compliance—and share real-world challenges from his marine geomatics projects. \nArthur is a geomatics professional with experience in marine surveys in Hong Kong before relocating to Canada. He is passionate about using GIS to tackle complex challenges in marine environments. \nFrom here\, we have a 6:45 reservation at BNA Brewing\, 1250 Ellis St. The reservation name is under Dianne or GoGeomatics. If you can’t make the library part\, you’re still welcome to join for the pub social. \nGoGeomatics is a networking event to welcome students\, professionals\, and academics in the field of geomatics in a casual environment.\nCome out and have some drinks with other students\, peers and professionals.
