DESCRIPTION:Hello Everyone! GoGeomatics is having our October Victoria GoGeomatics Meetup\, where we can network and talk all things Surveying\, GIS\, geomatics and geography! Let’s ring in the new year with some drinks and geo related discussion. \nThis event will take place at the Bent mast in one of the rooms upstairs. Come on up or ask the hostess for the GoGeomatics reservation. Come alone or with a friend. These events are free to attend. You will meet a mix of professionals.\, managers\, students and job seekers all the local Victoria community. \nIf you are interested in GIS\, geospatial\, surveying\, geomatics\, remote sensing\, data\, engineering\, BIM\, digital twins\, mobile mapping\, or geography in general this is the free networking group for you. \nYou will meet others who are interested in the awesomeness of GEO so if you like to talk about the tech and sector its a great evening over drinks. \nThe number of people allowed to attend is not a hard cap. If you want to come by and the total number of guests has already been hit it’s not a problem! \nHope to see you there! \nP.S We have started having presentations at these events\, so if you have any interest in presenting\, send me a message and we’ll try and work something out. \nP.P.S The event is free to attend\, however food and drinks are an additional cost to the guests.

The presentation will cover the engineering use of open data LiDAR point clouds combined with drone photogrammetry-based point clouds\, with an added side discussion on the challenges of knowing what coordinate system (especially vertical) the data are using. More details to come. \nFrom here\, we will go to CRAFT Beer Market\, 258 Bernard Ave\, for a 6:45 reservation. \nGoGeomatics is a networking event to welcome students\, professionals\, and academics in the field of geomatics in a casual environment.\nCome out and have some drinks with other students\, peers and professionals.
