DESCRIPTION:We will begin with a presentation by Wes Sutherland called “Digital Outcrop Models – a GIS solution” in Meeting Room 2 (upstairs near the stairwell) of the Okanagan Regional Library\, 1380 Ellis St. \nSome bio information about Wes: \nWes Sutherland is a Sr. Geological Technologist working primarily in the Energy Resource sector for over 30 years in a wide variety of technical capacities\, supporting everything from startups to multi-national companies. \nWith a deep passion for 3D visualizations of simulated and real-world geological and engineering processes\, he’s utilized some innovative approaches to handling data gaps over the years. \nPlease join Wes as we explore a Digital Outcrop Model solution using a GIS. \nFrom here\, we will go to CRAFT Beer Market\, 258 Bernard Ave\, for a 6:45 reservation at Curious Cafe\, 1423 Ellis St. Reservation under Dianne. \nGoGeomatics is a networking event to welcome students\, professionals\, and academics in the field of geomatics in a casual environment.\nCome out and have some drinks with other students\, peers and professionals. DESCRIPTION:Hello Everyone! for GIS day GoGeomatics is having our November Victoria GoGeomatics Meetup\, where we can network and talk all things Surveying\, GIS\, geomatics and geography! Let’s ring in the new year with some drinks and geo related discussion. \nThis event will take place at the Bent mast in one of the rooms upstairs. Come on up or ask the hostess for the GoGeomatics reservation. Come alone or with a friend. These events are free to attend. You will meet a mix of professionals.\, managers\, students and job seekers all the local Victoria community. \nIf you are interested in GIS\, geospatial\, surveying\, geomatics\, remote sensing\, data\, engineering\, BIM\, digital twins\, mobile mapping\, or geography in general this is the free networking group for you. \nYou will meet others who are interested in the awesomeness of GEO so if you like to talk about the tech and sector its a great evening over drinks. \nThe number of people allowed to attend is not a hard cap. If you want to come by and the total number of guests has already been hit it’s not a problem! \nHope to see you there! \nP.S We have started having presentations at these events\, so if you have any interest in presenting\, send me a message and we’ll try and work something out. \nP.P.S The event is free to attend\, however food and drinks are an additional cost to the guests.
