  • Geoff passed away September 14, 2022.
  • For over 30 years, Geoff Zeiss devoted his life to the Geospatial industry and community all over the world.
  • It was a life focused on the utility and construction sectors, mapping underground utility infrastructure, BIM, CAD, Geospatial interoperability, machine learning, and much more.
  • Zeiss created Between the Poles, a thought leadership blog where he advocated on issues of importance to the community.

About Sponsorship Project

  • Goal: To move the original data out of the Typepad site and into a new more modern CMS with content management tools, forms, e-commerce, and social media. Potential for directories/postings of: companies, orgs, jobs, events, associations, etc.
  • Keeping the spirit of Betteen the Poles content will be curated by an advisory committee. Content will be divided into leadership pieces and more commercial content that is paid for.
  • A separation between the two is important.
  • Geoff Zeiss Archive of articles 2006-2022 over 2,500 articles
  • Rated in the top 5,000 of all websites on the internet for authority
  • Tools for article submission
  • Promote the endowment with direct and indirect giving

  • Builds on decades of innovation in developing effective and sustainable urban infrastructure through research and development supporting urban information systems
  • Range of possibilities from graduate scholarship to endowed chair(s)
  • Developing partnerships with flagship programs to establish research priorities
  • Carleton University coordinating across disciplines, researchers, and other universities and organizations

About the Sponsorship Program

  • Yearly sponsorships for the continued maintenance and development of the site
  • 50% of sponsorship dollars will be directed to the Endowment
  • The other 50% will be used for the development and maintenance of the new site and content
