GeoIgnite 2020 Video: Deploy Solutions Space Social: Nick Kellet & Kevin Jones
GeoIgnite is Canada’s national geospatial conference hosted by GoGeomatics Canada.
GeoIgnite was held online via Zoom from July 22nd to 24th, 2020. This free event showcased the Canadian geospatial community and the leaders of Canada’s location technology sector. The conference brought together professionals from government and industry for innovative programming and updates on our sector. Every year, GeoIgnite is a unique opportunity for the geospatial community in Canada and abroad to learn, share, and engage with one another.

If you missed out on this session during GeoIgnite in July, here is another opportunity to watch. Nick is the founder and CEO of Deploy Solutions and the lead organizer of Space Apps Ottawa Hackathon, while Kevin has a background in Remote Sensing Application and service development and is the VP of product and marketing at PCI Geomatics.
Deploy Solutions is a Canadian software company specializing in building solutions for the space industry. Their recently completed space-related projects include:
- Earth Observation Pipeline in Amazon cloud,
- Cloud 2 LEO Pipeline,
- Climate change impact platform
In conjunction with PCI Geomatics, they sponsor and organize Space Apps Ottawa annual hackathon. This year, they coordinated the COVID-19 special edition hackathon between 30-31st May which led to the production of an Informative user interface showing Community COVID cases. They both highlighted some of their cool space moments which include:

- Cool Canadian Space Moment: RADARSAT Constellation Mission RCM Launch built for Canadian space Agency by MDA and launched on a SpaceX rocket.

This session ended with Space and Drinks game session which was played using Kahoot.it. Richard, Tanya, and Ryan won the game and the prize of a custom-made 3D printed model with a personalization option.
