GeoIgnite Talk On YouTube: A closer look at the NV5 Geospatial 2020 aerial topobathymetric lidar survey of Montreal

In case you missed it GoGeomatics is highlighting one of the most interesting talks from GeoIgnite from this past April.

NV5 Geospatial was granted a special opportunity to carry out one of the largest fluvial aerial topobathymetric lidar surveys ever undertaken in Canada. Montreal is a big city and this was a big project, and Sven Cowan from (NV5 Geospatial and Guillaume Spain from the Montreal Metropolitan Community (MMC) discuss the project’s process, results, challenges, and more in their panel at Day One of GeoIgnite 2021.

Guillaume Spain is a GIS analyst for the Communauté Métropolitaine de Montréal (CMM). He has been working with GIS for over 12 years now as is responsible for various large scale projects within the CMM, including producing the bi-yearly canopy index and building footprints as well as managing the topobathymetric lidar acquisition project and leading the drone acquisition team.

Sven Cowan is the Canada Program Manager for NV5 Geospatial, powered by Quantum Spatial. Sven has more than 20 years of experience in customer-facing positions within the geospatial information industry.
