GoGeomatics Virtual Events: Week of April 6th – 10th, 2020

GoGeomatics is expanding our activities online. For all of us stuck at home and looking to connect we are going to offer more opportunities for the Canadian geospatial community to engage.

To kick us off this week we have two events.

The Virtual GoGeomatics Meetup – April 8th, 7pm EST

This first get together is a virtual Meetup using Zoom. As always we endeavor to be free and fun. Join Jonathan Murphy and Shawn DeAdder. We will be discussing geomatics and the Canadian Military.

Shawn DeAdder is a 20 year veteran of the Canadian Military and the leader of the Edmonton GoGeomatics group. His career was split between 13 years as a member  of the Infantry and 7 years with Engineers as a Geomatics Technician. Shawn and Jonathan will be discussing careers in military for geomatics professionals and taking questions from the participants.

Writers & Editors Discussion Group -April 10th, 7pm EST

Our Second event will be a meeting of the minds. GoGeomatics has put a call out to create a new Writers and Editors group. This will be a freewheeling discussion of how we as a community can share our passion for geomatics on the GoGeomatics Magazine through writing and editing stories or projects.
