We’re excited about the response to our Canadian growth plan based on our existing clientele and the team we’re building locally and are now seeking a Senior to Associate level GIS Analyst to join our Spatial Solutions Team. You’ll be part of an international spatial team who work together, lean on one another and lift each other to grow technically. We offer flexibility that works for you and hybrid working options that mean this role could be based at any of the following locations: Vancouver, Calgary or Toronto.
Here’s what you can expect in your new role with EMM:
- Diverse Work: We work on a diverse range of big and small projects related to renewable energy, mining and environmental strategy. These projects stretch across niche technical areas such as climate analysis, ecology, noise and vibration impact studies, heritage, social surrounds, water engineering and 3D visual analysis.
- Develop and build: As well as providing support across the business, you will leverage your technical expertise and curiosity to offer our clients new and innovative solutions.
- Follow your passion: Pair your knowledge, skills and interests with projects that play to this, like becoming a drone pilot, utilising remote sensing technology, building digital platforms for clients and using coding to create efficient workflows.
- Global reach: Projects won’t be limited to Canada. You’ll work collaboratively with our Australian team, with your combined expertise allowing you to deliver to clients globally.
- Communicate the complex: You’ll use your spatial, design, and storytelling skills to help stakeholders understand and appreciate complex concepts, relationships and opportunities.
- Support: You’ll have the support you need to deliver exceptional quality with specialist teams across EMM and leaders who are truly present and excited to help you deliver and the satisfaction from inspiring and supporting other EMMers on their development journey.

Here’s What You’ll Bring To Have Impact
- A degree in geography, environmental science or a related discipline;
- 10 + years of experience at a minimum;
- GIS experience, including the use of Esri products, gained within a consulting business;
- A passion for all things spatial: geospatial data, web-mapping, cartography and more;
- Expertise and previous experience providing solutions using remote sensing technologies while, ideally, using ENVI software;
- Experience in managing projects, delivering to deadlines and within agreed budgets;
- An ability to manage your own time and priorities and balance your individual needs while assisting the team achieve the bigger picture;
- A focus on relationships, collaboration and dedication to client and team; and
- A strong desire to mentor others.
