Cabin Resources Management has built a foundation of experience and dedication to quality and innovative solutions in four main divisions: forestry, environmental operations, recreation solutions and wildfire management. We are currently looking to add a Data Engineer to our Forestry team.


As a Data Engineer you will be responsible for the following:

  • Assist in developing and deploying analytical applications in the environmental and natural resource industries
  • Work independently and as part of a small team
  • Take ownership of tasks
  • Adapt and optimize existing code and workflows to improve stability and efficiency
  • Coordinate with Data Scientists, Resource Analysts, GIS Analysts and PMs to develop solutions to analytical problems

What we are looking for:

  • Extract, Transform and Load operations
  • Efficiently managing large volumes of data
  • Data pipelines
  • API development
  • Database design and validation
  • Machine Learning fundamentals and workflows
  • Configuration and utilization of cloud computing services such as AWS
  • Proficiency in Python/R
  • Version control using Git
  • Familiarity with Geographic Information Systems, image analysis, and geo-located data sets are considered an asset
  • Interest in Environment, Ecology, and Remote Sensing
  • Adventurous, self-starter with integrity
  • Ability to work in an organized fashion, multitask and communicate with coworkers and clients
  • Eligible to work in Canada
