GIS Analyst

Our Large enterprise Calgary client has an immediate requirement for a couple strong Intermediate GIS Analysts to take on an initial 12 month contract engagement starting January 2nd 2019

Experience with ESRI software, specifically the ArcGIS suite and its extensions.
Ability to perform GIS data conversion/editing, map production, spatial data management, and spatial analysis.
Strong understanding of current GIS concepts and practices.
Basic understanding of relational database management systems (RDBMS).
Strong task management skills.
Strong communication skills with an ability to interact with key project stakeholders.
Organized, self-motivated individual with ability to work with minimal supervison.
Strong analytical skills to resolve issues and evaluate possible solutions.
Strong knowledge of GIS data (features and attributes) and the ability to extract data, create reports and present information to different departments.
A proven track record in continuous improvement and the ability to challenge the ‘status quo’ and provide sound recommendations to improve processes.

Asset but not required:
Thorough working knowledge of distribution standards and structures; this includes a demonstrated knowledge of electrical system function and operation.
Experience with Hexagon (formerly Integraph) G-Electric GIS.
Strong data analysis, reporting extraction and manipulation skills including advanced proficiency in Excel and SQL querying. (Excel, SQL Developer, PowerBI).

Requires a degree in GIS, Geography or closely related field.
5 years minimum of progressively responsible GIS experience including working with ESRI technologies.
Successful completion of a GIS/Cartography certification program or ArcGIS will be considered an asset.
