Our Regina, Saskatchewan office is seeking a Junior Air Monitor/GIS Analyst to join our growing team. This is a permanent position that is needed to support our technical staff with various projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Performing spatial analyses on remote sensing data, automated or manually collected monitoring data and field acquired data in support of projects undertaken by Matrix’s offices
• Create, edit and update figures, vectors and raster
• Maintain field office GIS data
• Conduct field work including air quality monitoring or equipment maintenance
• Assist in updating and maintaining mapping standards and work processes
• Work collaboratively with the air quality group on a wide variety of air quality assessments
• Provide regulatory guidance and review on a wide variety of environmental audits and assessments including: odor and nuisance related issues, meteorology, environmental impact assessments <x{(}>(</x{(}>EIAs), and environmental protection plans <x{(}>(</x{(}>EPPs)

Education, Experience, Technical Skills:

• Minimum 1 – 3 years of experience or possess combination of education and experience in a similar role
• University degree in, Geography, Biology, Agrology, Statistics, Geology, Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Earth Science or related discipline
• Experience with air pollutant emissions inventory and dispersion model simulations assessing the effects of air emissions from a wide range of industries
• Proficient with advanced functions of GIS software including ESRI GIS products, Quantum GIS and/or Manifold, including script development in Python and SQL
• An ability to read, analyze and interpret technical procedures, regulations, drawings and job specifications
• Programing experience in R will be consider an asset
• Excellent English communication skills <x{(}>(</x{(}>verbal and written)
• Ability to work well in a team atmosphere
• Detail oriented and a work ethic to achieve high quality results
• Ability to work undefined schedule, carry out field work and extra hours when needed
