OVERVIEW OF POSITIONS

We are seeking qualified and highly motivated candidates for the full-time positions of Junior and Intermediate Planners. In these roles you will be part of a team that provides professional planning services on a wide variety of assignments for both the private and public sectors, with a focus on recreation and parks planning projects. Your day-to-day work will consist of conducting research, writing, and editing reports, collaborating with team members, supporting public engagement activities, participating in meetings, graphics development, and proposal preparation. Through each unique project you will advise municipalities through long-range master plans, facility and park needs, service delivery and operational assessments, and feasibility studies.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Junior Planner – 1 to 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Intermediate Planner – 3 to 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Exposure and interest in the parks and recreation sector.
  • A post-secondary degree in Urban Planning or a related discipline.
  • Full or Provisional Membership in OPPI/CIP is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Ontario’s land use planning system and municipal government processes.
  • A strong work ethic and the ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Creative and technical writing skills, including experience with data analysis.
  • Confidence in communicating with municipal staff, clients, stakeholders, and the public.
  • Must be proficient in MS Office; graphic production and/or GIS skills are considered an asset.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, with a high attention to detail.
  • A personal vehicle and a valid driver’s license are required – travel may be required.
