Product Analyst – Geospatial Imagery Software

You will be working with a small, informal and tightly integrated software development team on a variety of desktop development projects. We need a Quality Assurance Analyst to head the quality assurance for our Geographic Imager application, which is a suite of tools for working with spatial imagery in the Adobe Photoshop environment. This individual will also contribute to defining the product roadmap with the Product Manager.

You Will:

  • Participate in design and proactively contribute to the product’s feature development
  • Create and manage test cases, define and execute acceptance / functional test plans
  • Catalogue, track and verify issues submitted via customers’ reports
  • Assist development staff in tracking and maintaining current defects
  • Act as escalated support for non-conformance issues
  • Be a key liaison with Geographic Imager customers

You Have:

  • Expertise in remote sensing (RS), geomatics, photogrammetry, geospatial image analysis,  and related disciplines
  • Strong understanding of core concepts such as orthorectification, georeferencing, reprojection, spatial/spectral resolution, atmospheric correction etc
  • Significant experience working with satellite and aerial photography or drone imagery using applications such as PCI Geomatica, ERDAS IMAGINE, Harris ENVI, IDRISI
  • Familiarity with DEM / DTM, Lidar and other popular 2D and 3D digital raster image formats
  • Completion of an accredited cartographic, geospatial or GIS educational program or equivalent work experience
  • Genuine interest in troubleshooting and resolving complex cartographic, GIS and software-related issues
  • A good understanding of QA processes and a keen interest in pursuing a QA career
  • The ability to write clear and complete product documentation
  • A passion for ensuring software quality
  • An ability to work with a team and independently with little guidance
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Attention to detail

You May Also Have:

  • Familiarity with GIS technology and applications such as ArcGIS, GlobalMapper, Avenza Geographic Imager
  • Experience in a quality assurance engineering role
  • Skills in researching and implementing new testing technologies
  • Familiarity with online data portals and data access protocols (WMS, WFS, Google / Bing / Open Street Map, MapBox TileMill)
  • Experience working in Adobe Photoshop
