Full job description
GRIT Engineering Inc. provides professional consulting services in site plan development, land development, municipal review, surveying, and geotechnical engineering.
In this position, the successful candidate (SeniorSurvey Field Technician) should be fully capable of conducting topographical land surveys, and construction layouts using robotic total stations, GNSS and levelling equipment. Familiarity in spatial analysis, and spatial data management required for post processing and verification of field data. The Survey Field Technician should be experienced engineering surveying for site development. This individual will work closely with the civil engineering division on a variety of site development, grading and construction layout projects.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team to ensure the successful completion of all projects
- Providing leadership, guidance, training, evaluation and expertise to junior and intermediate technicians
- Capable of completing plan review for completeness of survey
- Provide technical expertise in the areas of safety, surveying methods, and practices
- Maintain detailed and accurate field records
- Develop and oversee detailed land survey plans
- Utilize GNSS, Robotic Total Stations, and Levelling survey equipment
- Conduct topographical surveys
- Create and maintain detailed survey information
- Accurately indicate elevations, property lines and land contours
- Accurately manage spatial data
- Interpret aerial photographs
- Interact with governing bodies, planners, landowners, real estate agents and other interested parties
Education Requirement
BSc. in Applied Science, Geology or its equivalent.
OR
Completion of an accredited surveying/geomatics program an asset.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: $70,000.00-$85,000.00 per year
