K-W GoGeomatics March Social – Speaker Series – Rick Nesbitt
Join us for our March social event where we will be having Rick Nesbitt from the Region of Waterloo come in and talk to us about “Advancing Inspections of Infrastructure with UAV Technology”.
Rick is a graduate of the University of Waterloo, in Environmental Resource Management with a minor in Environmental Law and Environmental Assessment and a Post Graduate Diploma in Geospatial Analysis from Niagara College. He has 15 Years experience in Infrastructure Management, working in both the private and public sectors completing transportation infrastructure inspections, to develop capital budgets and create detailed maintenance plans. With hands-on experience operating specialized bridge and pavement management software, Rick uses advanced GIS skills to perform data analysis and visualizations to allow for project coordination of repair works for transportation infrastructure. Rick has strong interest in Geomatics and the use of UAV technology to advance the inspection of significant infrastructure, in new and innovative ways.
The social this month will take place at The Huether Hotel on Wednesday March 11, 2020 at 6:30pm. We will be in the Barley Works Operations Room.
Everyone is welcome, from all areas of geomatics – from GIS, to remote sensing, to surveying, to cartography, to GIS enthusiasts. If you are involved in location technology you are invited.
