OGC to Host the Canada Forum at GeoIgnite 2025
The Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) will host the OGC Canada Forum at GeoIgnite 2025, taking place from May 12-14, 2025 at the Ottawa Conference and Event Centre. The forum, scheduled for May 12, will focus on two critical topics: Canadian Geospatial Data Infrastructure (CGDI) and the integration of Building Information Modeling (BIM) with Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
The Canada Forum will bring together thought leaders from industry, academia, Indigenous organizations, and government sectors to explore how these technologies can transform Canada’s built environment. Discussions will also cover the role of OGC standards in fostering interoperability and driving innovation within the geospatial and construction sectors. With the convergence of BIM and GIS technologies, the forum provides a timely opportunity to examine how these fields are shaping smarter and more sustainable urban spaces.
OGC welcomes all Canadian organizations, as well as those operating within Canada, to participate in this session, regardless of OGC membership status.
To ensure the forum aligns with participants’ needs, OGC is also hosting a virtual preview session on March 17 at 13:30 Eastern Time, lasting 90 minutes. This session is an opportunity for you to provide feedback and help us refine the agenda for the Canada Forum that will be held at GeoIgnite Ottawa 2025.
