Canadian Women in Geomatics

GoGeomatics is pleased to announce the launch of our very first Women in GIS / Geomatics section on the GoGeomatics website.  Along with our current women in GIS/Geomatics career interviews, we are putting together a number of interviews from professional women in the industry to celebrate International Women’s Day on March 8th, 2012.

Past interviews with women in the geomatics industry include:

Wendy Innes: Survey Crew Chief / Geomatics Technician

Jennifer Johnston – Cartographer, Lonely Planet

Jenn White – Photogrammetry and Cartographic Specialist

Meghan Miller – Cartographer, Canadian Cartographics Corporation

Pamela Williams, GIS Analyst, Geographer, CANADEM

We will be highlighting women all month that have chosen to make geomatics their profession.  GoGeomatics will be talking with them about their careers career choices and challenges.  Please join us as we explore this topic.

We are continually conducting new interviews but some of the women featured in the interviews will include:

Tracey Harvey – GIS Instructor, Selkirk College

Jessica Coleby – Research Analyst, InterStratics Consultants Inc.

Tara Seitz – GIS Quality Manager and Facilitator, GiQ Inc.

Anne Krahnen – Cartographer and GIS Specialist

Catherine Ennis – International GIS Manager

Stephanie Murphy – GIS Analyst, R.C.M.P.

Melanie Tranter – Land Use Specialist, NAV Canada

Pamela Williams – Geographer/GIS Analyst

GoGeomatics would like to thank the Women who have participated in this blog promoting Women in GIS/Geomatics and sharing their stories with the community. Keep your eyes open for our new section which will be aired on March 8th.  We look forward to any comments you may have about our interviews.

Sincerely,

The GoGeomatics Team
