Calgary, AB October 2025 – The Geomatics Engineering Student Society (GESS) at the University of Calgary is proud to announce the upcoming 28th Annual Geomatics Exposition (Geo Expo 2026), scheduled for Thursday, February 5, 2026.
As one of Canada’s premier student-led geomatics networking events, the Expo brings together students, faculty, and industry leaders for a full day of collaboration, innovation, and opportunity. The event continues its mission to strengthen ties between academia and the geospatial industry — fostering connections that help shape the next generation of geomatics professionals.

“Geo Expo is more than a networking event — it’s a bridge between education and industry,” said Grant Graza, Expo Commissioner. “It’s an opportunity for students to showcase their passion for geomatics and for companies to connect with emerging talent who will drive the industry forward.”
Throughout the day, participating organizations will have the opportunity to engage with undergraduate, master’s, and PhD students from the Geomatics Engineering program, as well as other disciplines across the Schulich School of Engineering. The 2026 edition is expected to see record participation and increased engagement from across the Canadian geomatics community.
Sponsorship Opportunities Now Open
GESS invites organizations to become sponsors of the 2026 Geomatics Exposition. Sponsorship provides unique benefits, including:
- Direct networking with students across all academic levels
- Enhanced brand visibility across event materials and communications
- Opportunities to host company presentations and conduct on-site recruitment
The 2026 Sponsorship Package offers several levels of engagement designed to maximize visibility and foster meaningful connections throughout the event.
“The ongoing support of our industry partners is what makes the Expo possible,” added Hady Ibrahim, Expo Commissioner. “Their engagement not only strengthens our event but also inspires students to pursue impactful careers in geomatics.”
