Ottawa’s GoGeomatics social on November 19th will include a special discussion! Managing Director of GoGeomatics Jonathan Murphy will be sharing the GoGeomatics vision for a new national geospatial conference for Canada. Click here to join us.

Jonathan will discuss current plans, partners, and themes for this inaugural 2-day event. This conference is in planning stages now and is slated to arrive in 2019.  This will be an open discussion and include members of the conference committee.  Share your views on what you think would make for a valuable conference experience in Ottawa.

GoGeomatics Canada has grown in capacity over the past 7 years, and it’s with energy and enthusiasm our volunteers, stakeholders and partners are coming together to create something very special. It’s time for Canadian geomatics community to come together in order to showcase the proud history of our achievements and look to the future.

Jon Murphy

Jonathan Murphy is the CEO, President, and Founder of GoGeomatics Canada. He is also the founder and chair of GeoIgnite, Canada's national geospatial leadership conference, and Canada's National Geomatics expo. Jon has created Canada’s largest professional geospatial network, aiming to strengthen and empower our geospatial ecosystem. A community builder and connector, he holds a bachelor's degree in Archaeology from the University of Calgary and advanced diplomas in GIS and applied geomatics research from COGS. Jon is a Fellow of the Royal Canadian Geographical Society. In 2020, he joined the ISO/TC 211 Geographic information/Geomatics Technical Committee responsible for the ISO geographic information series of standards. In 2023, Jon joined the board of directors of buildingSMART Canada.
