Anne Mansfield

Anne Mansfield is a passionate geographer and an advocate for Geographic Education with over 30 years of experience. Based in Kingston, Ontario, Anne has dedicated her career to making geography an integral part of education across Canada. She has held various roles, including high school teacher, Geography Department Head, and lecturer at Queen’s University, where she specialized in geography pedagogy. Anne is currently the President of the Ontario Association for Geographic and Environmental Education (OAGEE), an organization she has been a part of for over 25 years. As a member of the Canadian Geographic Education Executive, she has actively worked to ensure the subject of geography remains relevant in both Ontario and nationwide education systems. Her dedication to geographic literacy has earned her numerous accolades, including the Geographic Literacy Award (Alex Trebek Medal) from the Royal Canadian Geographical Society in 2013, the Award of Distinction from OAGEE in 2015, and the King Charles III Coronation Medal in 2024. Anne’s professional journey reflects her commitment to nurturing a geographically literate society, and her work continues to inspire educators and students alike.
