Jin Xing
Jin is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Geography, McGill University. He is supervised by Prof. Renee Sieber and Prof. Margaret Kalacska. He obtained his M.Sc. degree from McGill University, and B.S. from Hebei University of Technology, China. His research interest lies in using Geospatial computing methods to investigate urban change detection, with heterogeneous GIS and remote sensing datasets.
In 2015, Jin was part of the team that won second place in Esri Canada’s first ECCE App Challenge, for their app Community Open Data Engage (CODE). He has received the Rathlyn GIS Award and GEC3 Research Award from McGill University. His research has also been supported by main cloud computing providers, such as Amazon EC2.
