Mathew Leitch
Dr. Mathew Leitch, Associate Professor in Lakehead's Faculty of Forestry and the Forest Environment. He is the driving force behind the study of wood science at Lakehead, and his research covers a range of topics from mapping tree properties to helping entrepreneurs invest in value-added wood products such as bioresins and heat-treated wood. Leitch completed his PhD at the University of Melbourne where he became a cambial physiologist; that is, a specialist in understanding how trees make wood.
