The GoGeomatics Expo 2025 returns to Calgary from November 3-5, bringing Canada’s geomatics and geospatial communities together for three days of dialogue, networking, and collaboration.
One of the most anticipated tracks this year is Beyond Hype: Geomatics & AI in Practice, a program focused on how artificial intelligence is moving from buzzword to backbone across Earth observation, surveying, drones, and reality capture.
Why it Matters?
AI is transforming how geomatics and geospatial professionals capture, analyze, and deliver insights. From foundation models that unlock new approaches to spatial data, to decentralized drone networks training AI to “see” the world, intelligent systems are reshaping workflows at every scale.
Equally important are the questions of trust, ethics, and impact: how AI is applied in real-world contexts, how it supports decision-making, and what it means for the future of the geomatics workforce. This program brings together experts and practitioners to examine opportunities and challenges at the frontier of geomatics and AI.
Like last year, Trimble Vice President Bryn Fosburgh returns to the main stage with a keynote on AI’s Impact in BIM & Geospatial. Recognized as a global authority on how AI is transforming BIM, geospatial workflows, and the integration of advanced technologies, Fosburgh delivered one of the most anticipated sessions at last year’s Expo.
