Canadian Geomatics and Geospatial Advisory Forum

Join the Canadian Geomatics and Geospatial Advisory Forum on Monday afternoon, November 3, 2025, at GoGeomatics Expo 2025 in Calgary. This free, open session brings together leaders and participants from government, private industry, academia, non-profits, and the broader geomatics community for practical, forward-looking conversations about strengthening Canada’s geospatial sector.The inaugural forum at GeoIgnite 2025 in Ottawa showed the value of a vendor-neutral space where participants could tackle shared challenges. Building on that success, the Calgary session will focus on two core themes:

• Workforce Development and Education: Explore how post-secondary programs, training pathways, and professional recognition can better align with rapidly evolving needs in areas like AI, remote sensing, digital twins, and UAV operations. Discuss strategies to attract and retain diverse talent and ensure Canada’s geospatial workforce is future-ready.
• Procurement and Partnerships: Examine how procurement processes and partnership models can better support innovation, level the playing field for small and medium-sized firms, and foster collaboration between industry, academia, and government.

There will be no formal presentations, keynotes, or panels – only open, moderated roundtable discussions where every voice counts. Insights from this session will be captured in a post-Expo report to help inform future initiatives across the country.
