Introduction to Remote Sensing Analysis Using QGIS

Learn how to interpret and analyze satellite imagery using QGIS with Eric Purdie. Eric is a GIS instructor at Algonquin College.

Participants will learn how to interpret and analyze satellite imagery using QGIS.  The instructor will guide participants through each learning goal step-by-step live online. This course uses datasets based on real-world GIS projects and QGIS. Students will gain an understanding of how to leverage QGIS open-source analysis tools to ask and answer questions to solve real world issues.

Topics covered: Image processing (e.g. Error correction and projection), analysis (e.g. NDVI, Tasseled Cap Transformation, and Supervised Classification using AI/ML), and terrain analysis (e.g. Creating DSM’s & DTM’s with LiDAR datasets).
