GeoIgnite 2026: A quick guide to choosing how to attend
Start With the Schedule
GeoIgnite 2026 is structured across three distinct days, and understanding that schedule is the easiest way to choose the right ticket.
- Monday, May 11: Open Day Forums, including the Quebec Geospatial Forum, the Canadian Geospatial and Geomatics Forum, the OGC Canada Forum, a networking lunch, and the evening opening reception at the Rainbow Bistro.
- Tuesday, May 12: The main conference plenary, exhibition hall, networking spaces, and Canada Maps and Poster Gallery.
- Wednesday, May 13: Conference tracks, exhibition access, networking, and Canada Maps and Poster Gallery.
If you understand which day matters most to you, choosing the right pass becomes much simpler.
If You Are Deciding Quickly
- Choose the Full Conference Pass if you want the complete GeoIgnite experience across Tuesday and Wednesday, with sessions, exhibition access, meals, and receptions included.
- Choose Monday forum access if your focus is national dialogue, policy, standards, strategy, and coordination across the sector.
- Choose the Opening Reception if your priority is networking and you want an affordable way to be part of the event on Monday evening.
- Choose a Tuesday or Wednesday Exhibition, Gallery and Networking Pass if you want to explore the community, meet exhibitors, and spend time in the main event spaces without attending conference sessions.
- Choose a Faculty, Instructor, or Student pass if you are attending from academia and want full conference access at a reduced rate.
Note: Pricing increases after April 15 and again after May 8.

GeoIgnite 2025 connections
What Happens on Monday, May 11
Monday is the most flexible entry point into GeoIgnite. It is built around forums, dialogue, standards, and community discussion rather than the full conference format that follows on Tuesday and Wednesday.
The day includes the Quebec Geospatial Forum in the morning, the Canadian Geospatial and Geomatics Forum, a networking lunch at midday, and the OGC Canada Forum in the afternoon. Monday concludes with the GeoIgnite Opening Reception at the Rainbow Bistro in Ottawa’s ByWard Market.
If your interest is in policy, standards, national coordination, leadership discussion, or simply getting into the room at a lower cost, Monday may be the best fit.
Monday Forum Access
Monday forum access is free. It is the right choice for those interested in national geospatial dialogue, standards, public policy, and sector coordination.
Monday Networking Lunch
The networking lunch is a separate ticketed option at $65. It adds additional time to connect with participants from across Canada and includes a featured talk from Dr. Borys Vorobyov, CEO of SightPower, on the use of geospatial technologies in Ukraine during a time of conflict.
Monday Evening Opening Reception
The GeoIgnite Opening Reception is one of the most accessible ways to take part in the event at $75. It combines short leadership panels with networking in a more informal setting.
What Happens on Tuesday, May 12
Tuesday is the main plenary day. It brings together senior leaders from government, industry, defence, and the international geospatial community to frame the national conversation.
This is the day for those who want the broadest view of where Canada’s geospatial sector is heading. It is also when the exhibition hall, networking spaces, and the Canada Maps and Poster Gallery are fully active.
The Full Conference Pass
The Full Conference Pass is the strongest choice for professionals, executives, public sector leaders, technical specialists, and those who want to engage broadly across the conference. The current rate is $925, with prices increasing after April 15 and again after May 8.
It includes access to all plenary and breakout sessions on Tuesday and Wednesday, the exhibition hall, networking areas, the Canada Maps and Poster Gallery, and the giant floor maps. It also includes breakfast during registration, refreshment breaks, lunch on both conference days, and admission to both GeoIgnite networking receptions.
Tuesday Exhibition, Gallery and Networking Pass
If you want to attend on Tuesday but do not need conference sessions, this pass is $225. It provides access to the exhibition hall, networking areas, the Canada Maps and Poster Gallery, and the giant floor maps. It also includes refreshment breaks served in the exhibition hall and admission to the Tuesday evening networking reception.
This pass does not include plenary sessions or lunch.

GeoIgnite Connecting our Sector
What Happens on Wednesday, May 13
Wednesday is built around focused conference tracks. These sessions explore the technologies, policies, and partnerships shaping Canada’s geospatial future, including GEOINT, sovereignty, the Arctic, space and Earth observation, and digital infrastructure.
If your interest is in going deeper into specific themes, Wednesday is the best day to attend.
Wednesday Exhibition, Gallery and Networking Pass
If you want access to the exhibition hall, networking areas, and the Canada Maps and Poster Gallery on Wednesday without attending the conference sessions, this pass is $175 and is the right fit.
It includes refreshment breaks served in the exhibition hall. It does not include breakout sessions, the Tuesday evening networking reception, or lunch.
Academic Passes
GeoIgnite also includes reduced-cost options for academia.
The Faculty and Instructor Pass is $500 and provides full conference access for faculty members and instructors from accredited academic institutions. The Student Conference Pass is $275 and gives students full access to the conference, including sessions, networking, and meals.
These passes are intended to support meaningful engagement between students, educators, industry, government, and the broader geospatial community.

What You Might Be Overthinking
Not everyone needs to attend every part of GeoIgnite. Some people may only need Monday. Others may want the opening reception and networking. Some may only need time in the exhibition hall and gallery. Others will want the full conference experience.
The important thing is not choosing the maximum possible access. The important thing is choosing the participation option that fits your goals, your schedule, and the kind of conversations you want to be part of.
