Location: Ottawa, Ontario (on-site at National Defence Headquarters)
Contract: Up to 2 years
GoGeomatics is seeking junior Geomatics Analysts to support the Mapping and Charting Establishment (MCE) at the Department of National Defence. These roles will assist with geospatial data processing, mapping, and database management to support national defence operations.
Key Responsibilities
• Collect, process, and manage geospatial and mapping data
• Produce and update digital maps and charts
• Perform GIS editing, QA/QC, and metadata management
• Support cartographic and spatial analysis tasks
Mandatory Requirements
• Education: Diploma or degree in Geomatics, Geography, GIS, Surveying, or Cartography
• Experience: Up to 3 years of related GIS or geomatics experience
• Software: Experience with ArcGIS Pro or QGIS
• Security Clearance: Must already hold a valid Government of Canada Reliability Status or higher (mandatory)
• Location: Must be currently living in Ottawa or willing to relocate at own expense
• Eligibility: Canadian citizen residing in Canada (no international applicants)
• Language: English essential
Nice-to-Have
• Knowledge of Python, FME, or spatial databases
• Familiarity with remote sensing or Defence mapping standards
