33.75 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
Salary
Hourly wage ranges from $48.84 to $61.55, equivalent to approximately $86,000 to $108,000 annually.
About the Role
The City of Edmonton is hiring Geospatial Systems Analysts to design, build, and support modern geospatial applications and automation workflows that enable critical municipal services. This role supports transportation, taxation, planning, parks, roadways, and emergency response and is well suited to professionals who enjoy improving GIS workflows, building user-focused applications, and delivering reliable geospatial solutions across a large organization.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and support web-based GIS applications and automation workflows; collaborate with business partners to gather requirements and translate operational needs into technical solutions; develop and maintain solutions using ArcGIS Enterprise and Online, Enterprise Geodatabases, VertiGIS Studio, Python, and FME; write, test, and debug code to ensure accuracy, performance, and usability; provide operational support and troubleshooting for existing GIS applications; monitor application performance and system logs and proactively address issues; apply patches and updates to maintain security and functionality; maintain technical documentation and change logs; participate in project meetings, code reviews, and knowledge-sharing sessions; assist with effort estimation and delivery timelines.
Qualifications
A degree in Geomatics or Computer Science with at least one year of relevant experience, or a post-secondary diploma in Computer Technology with at least two years of relevant experience, or a one-year software development certificate with a minimum of 700 instructional hours and at least four years of relevant experience.
Skills and Experience
Experience with ArcGIS Enterprise, Enterprise Geodatabases, VertiGIS, Python, and FME; ability to support, maintain, and troubleshoot GIS applications; strong analytical, problem-solving, and process design skills; ability to work independently and collaboratively; strong organizational and time management skills; awareness of emerging GIS and IT technologies; ability to mentor and support less experienced staff.
