CAREER OPPORTUNITY: SURVEY TECHNICIAN
STATUS: FULL TIME
LOCATION: Kamloops, Fort St. John, Campbell River, Whitehorse
SALARY: $30-50 per hour
Underhill Geomatics is a land surveying firm with offices in Fort St. John, Kamloops, Burnaby, Comox, and Whitehorse. Operating since 1913, Underhill continues to provide technologically advanced, flexible, and efficient geospatial solutions for all our clients’ needs within British Columbia, Yukon, Northwest Territories and Nunavut.
We provide Geomatcs services to our clients in Kamloops and the surrounding regions. We work with many great clients on both large and small scales. We work with a variety of survey types including land development, strata and air space projects, topographic surveys, First Nations land surveys, engineering and infrastructure surveys, industrial, mining, precision and monitoring surveys.

Duties Include:
- Performing Topographic, layout, and as-built surveys
- Performing control and high-precision surveys
- Utilizing Trimble GNSS, Robotic Total Stations, and 3D scanners for precise field measurements and data collection
- Conducting RPAS (UAV/drone) surveys, bathymetric surveys, and automated total station work with BCLS Project Managers
- Ensuring accuracy and efficiency in data collection and processing
Requirements:
- A team player with excellent problem-solving skills
- Experience with Trimble GNSS, Robotic Total Station, and 3D scanning is an asset but not required Advanced RPAS License, or ability to obtain, assistance provided.
- Familiarity with TBC, Starnet, Civil 3D is an asset but not required
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently in the field
