As reported in Barron’s of the approximately US$600 billion that China is planning to spend as part of its economic stimulus program, US$30 billion or about 5% of the stimulus could be allocated to renewable energy, including solar and wind. In addition the money would be intended to support projects that involve environmental protection, increase energy efficiency and decrease energy consumption.
