Jackie Ng pointed me to a fascinating session at Autodesk University in December and available online given by Clayton Hotson on the internals of MapGuide and how to visualize data from any FDO supported data source. The class demonstrates how you can use Mapguide building blocks to produce custom tools for generating graphics stylized to suit your own data. The specific output formats demonstrated in the class are DWF, Raster (JPG, TIFF, etc.) and DWG. To produce DWF and Raster tools are provided within the Mapguide source. To produce DWG, Clayton demonstrates how to extend the Mapguide framework for formats not immediately supported by Mapguide.
