I am in Singapore for Map Asia 2009 which is being held in downtown Singapore at the Suntec convention centre. I’ve taken a quick look at the program and here’s just a couple of highlights that I noticed.
The plenary sessions will be kicked of by Ed Parsons, Geospatial Technologist at Google, who will be talking about Evolving Geoweb. Professor. Josef Strobl, Director of the Centre for Geoinformatics at the University of Salzburg will give a plenary on Geospatial Technology Integration. I’m giving a plenary on Developing the Digital Infrastructure for a Sustainable Economy. One of the most exciting presentations in the Urban and Regional Planning track will be given by Dan Campbell, GIS Planning Manager of the City of Vancouver, Canada who will talk about Developing Digital Infrastructure for 3D Urban Modeling: Vancouver’s Experience. Vancouver is hosting the 2010 Olympics. This year Map Asia will have a Design and Engineering track and Emmanuel Samuel, Director of AEC for Autodesk in Singapore will be talking about Building Information Modeling: Binary Decision for AEC Industry.
