New Autodesk Labs Site Design

The new Autodesk Labs site redesign went live last Thursday night.  The new site design was created by Doug Look, Senior Strategic Designer at Autodesk.

One project that I recommend you take a look at is Dragonfly, which is a Web-based application for home improvement projects targeting beginning “home designers”.   Dragonfly provides on-line design tools to help you create a floor plan and then experiment with your ideas for furnishings in 2D and 3D.

A very useful lab project is the Google Earth Extension to AutoCAD that provides a simple wizard-driven interface for publishing your 3D models from AutoCAD-based products directly into the Google Earth.

Another one is Project Freewheel which is a web services with a a dedicated website that allows you to view DWF files across the web. Freewheel lets you view DWF files on a Windows, Linux, or Mac computer, or on a PDA or cell phone.  Freewheel also allows you to embed DWF files in a web page.
