OAGEE Fall 2021 Virtual Conference – Call for presenters

#Planning for the future

The Ontario Association of Geographic and Environmental Education will host a virtual conference on Saturday, October 16, 2021.

We have overcame several challenges related to public health and climate change in the past two years, however the world is ever-changing and we should get prepared for the future. This year’s theme for the conference, “Planning for the future”, allows us to rethink how we can adapt changes and create initiatives that reduce the degree of changes.

OAGEE is now accepting workshop and presentation proposals. Presenters are encouraged to focus on one of the following highlighted session themes:

  • Urban and rural sustainability
  • Community-based activities
  • Geotechnology and GIS
  • Canada wide issues, e.g. analyzing the impact of climate change, responses to climate change
  • Environmental and social justice/global citizenship and intersectionality issues

The workshops and presentations can help to develop collective wisdom by facilitating with elementary and high school teachers. An OAGEE moderator will assist to introduce every session. Please submit your presentation in advance so the moderators can smoothly arrange the event schedule .

Interesting parties can submit their proposals to Paul.Hackl@tdsb.on.ca or to their Google form.

The conference will run from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM and from 1:00 PM to 3:15 PM. Each session will last 50 for minutes followed by a 10-minute break. There will be a lunch break from 12:30PM to 1:00 PM.
