GeoIgnite is Canada’s national geospatial conference and the country’s most important annual gathering for professionals working across geomatics, geospatial technology, policy, and applied practice. Early bird ticket sales for GeoIgnite 2026 are now open and will close on February 15.
GeoIgnite 2026 takes place May 11–13, 2026, in Ottawa and builds on the momentum of recent editions, which welcomed more than 300 delegates from across Canada and featured approximately 25 exhibiting organizations. The conference brings together Canada’s geospatial community across government, industry, academia, Indigenous organizations, and professional practice. Early bird tickets are available at $825 CAD, representing the lowest full-conference rate before regular pricing begins later this spring. Tickets and full details are available at https://geoignite.ca/.
In addition to full conference tickets, GeoIgnite offers reduced-rate options to support participation across the community. Student tickets are available at $275 CAD, and instructor or professor tickets are available at $500 CAD. A tradeshow-only pass is also available for those who wish to attend the exhibition floor and associated networking events without a full conference pass.
Program Themes, Tracks, and Keynotes
The GeoIgnite 2026 program is structured around clearly defined themes that reflect Canada’s national priorities and the most important forces shaping the geospatial sector. The conference is designed to support informed discussion between government, industry, and the broader geospatial community, while remaining grounded in real-world application.
GeoIgnite 2026 is supported by leading international geospatial organizations, including the Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) and the World Geospatial Industry Council (WGIC). Their involvement reflects the conference’s focus on standards, interoperability, international collaboration, and the role of geospatial capability as critical national infrastructure.
The plenary program will feature a series of high-profile keynote speakers providing strategic, national, and international perspectives on geospatial leadership, sovereignty, resilience, and innovation. Confirmed plenary keynotes include:
• Klaus Dodds, one of the world’s leading authorities on geopolitics, sovereignty, and the Arctic
• Brian Gallant, Chief Executive Officer, Space Canada
• Peter Rabley, Chief Executive Officer, Open Geospatial Consortium
• Nadine Alameh, Founder, LunateAI
• Jonathan Murphy, Founder of GeoIgnite and GoGeomatics Canada
GeoIgnite opens with a free, open pre-conference day on Monday focused on national geospatial dialogue and coordination across Canada’s ecosystem. Tuesday anchors the conference with a strategic plenary program and keynote discussions that establish shared context and direction.
The final day of the conference, Wednesday, shifts into focused, track-based programming. This is where attendees engage more deeply with core themes through parallel sessions and applied discussion. Planned tracks include geospatial intelligence and sovereignty, space and Earth observation, national resilience, and digital delivery for infrastructure and critical systems. Full session details and schedules will be published as the program is finalized.
What Your GeoIgnite Ticket Includes
A full GeoIgnite conference ticket includes access to the complete three-day program as well as all on-site meals and networking activities. Attendees receive breakfast on both conference days, high-quality buffet lunches on both days, and coffee and refreshments throughout scheduled breaks.
The ticket also includes admission to the Monday night social event in Ottawa’s ByWard Market, as well as entry to the conference’s major networking reception in the trade show on Tuesday evening. These events are core parts of the GeoIgnite experience and are designed to encourage meaningful conversation across government, industry, and the broader geospatial community.
Why GeoIgnite Is Hosted in Ottawa
GeoIgnite is hosted in Ottawa to support direct engagement between government, industry, and the broader geospatial community. Many public-sector decision-makers are based in the National Capital Region, while industry and professionals are distributed across the country. Hosting the conference in Ottawa makes it easier for these groups to come together, share priorities, and have informed, practical discussions in one place.
Early Bird Pricing and Participation Opportunities

Early bird tickets are available until February 15. Regular pricing will apply after that date. GeoIgnite 2026 takes place May 11–13, 2026, in Ottawa.
