Dr. Suchan possesses  impressive credentials in the intelligence community across a variety of facets including engineering, sales and business development, strategic growth initiatives and acquisitions. She has held positions that include Managing Director of Riverside Research, as well as Executive Director of Geospatial Government Systems and Vice President of Strategy, Business Development & Technology with Exelis. MDA is looking forward to achieving strong growth with Suchan at the helm.

Drone Company Taking A Lead On Responsible Forest Management

Digital Timber has signed a partnership agreement with Finnish company MosaicMill to become the North American license holder for its proprietary tree-inventory software with the goal of bringing precision and efficiency to forest management across Canada.

The software is capable of gathering detailed tree-inventory data through the use of drone technology, and clients can use the data to better manage their forests.

Over the next few years, Digital Timber is hoping to use the new software to process all tree species across Canada.

Teledyne CARIS Receives Canada’s Ocean Supercluster Award Through Accelerated Ocean Solutions Program

Teledyne CARIS has received significant funding from Canada’s Ocean Supercluster award for the purpose of developing software for remote operations survey processing.

The project has three primary aims it hopes to achieve:

-The enhancement of its desktop-based product line to leverage the cloud to deliver consistent access for global users in every possible circumstance

-Support for remote mapping operations to underpin advancements in ocean robotics

-Infusing its passion for future ocean mappers with access to virtual training through the CARIS Cloud Platform.

Teledyne has partnered with Ocean Floor Geophysics (OFG), who have vast experience using the company’s software in conjunction with autonomous vehicles.

Canada’s Telesat and Nasdaq-listed Loral Space Will Merge To Form New Public Company

Canadian satellite company Telesat and the Nasdaq-listed Loral Space & Communications company have announced their plans to merge into the Telesat Corporation.

The merger will provide Telesat with access to public equity markets, providing increased flexibility for investment opportunities and give customers the competitive advantage they need to be successful.

The plan is expected to take effect in either the second or third quarter of 2021, pending regulatory and stockholder approvals.
