OAGEE Fall 2023 ConferenceThe annual OAGEE Fall 2023 Conference is set to take place at York University on October 12-13, 2023. This eagerly anticipated event gathers educators from across the province to share, learn and champion geographical education.

Theme: #SpaceForAll

Under the banner of “#SpaceForAll,” this year’s conference is dedicated to making geography and environmental education accessible to everyone. The theme encourages exploration of diverse spaces and inclusivity in education.

Fresh Format for a New Experience

Breaking away from tradition, this year’s conference offers a “flipped” format from years past.

The conference kicks off with a Faculty of Environmental and Urban Change Panel Presentation at 5:00 PM, followed by a campus walkabout highlighting ongoing initiatives from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A Wine Social at 7:00 PM wraps up the day’s events. Exhibitors are welcome to set up from 4:00 PM onwards.

Day two commences with a continental breakfast at 8:30 AM, leading into morning and afternoon sessions. Morning sessions run from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, including a keynote, while the afternoon sessions from 1:45 PM to 4:45 PM offer deeper exploration. Breaks provide opportunities to engage with exhibitors.

Sponsors and Exhibitors Welcome

The organizing committee invites businesses and organizations with a passion for geography to sponsor or exhibit. Two tiers are available for both for-profit and non-profit entities.

Recognizing varying resources, the committee welcomes reduced fees or “in-kind” contributions from not-for-profit groups.
