Survey Technicians

Tronnes Geomatics is hiring for three Calgary-based roles: Survey Crew Chief, CAD Technologist – General Drafting, and CAD Technologist – Construction Calculations.

These full-time positions offer strong pay, stable work, and the chance to work with cutting-edge geomatics technology, including advanced survey equipment, laser scanning, and modern drafting tools. Ideal candidates will bring strong technical skills, attention to detail, and an interest in contributing to high-quality legal, construction, and survey deliverables with an established Western Canadian company.

·         Survey Crew Chief — Lead field survey operations using a company-supplied vehicle, advanced GPS and total stations, and leading-edge laser scanning technology. Most work is in the Calgary area with limited travel from the city. Strong pay and overtime are typically available for those who want it, along with varied and complex projects across a wide range of survey applications. Valid driver’s licence is required.

·         CAD Technologist — Prepare drafting and survey deliverables with a strong focus on topographic and legal surveys. The role includes working in AutoCAD Civil 3D and point cloud registration, offering strong pay and exposure to advanced geomatics technology.

·         CAD Technologist – Construction Calculations — Support construction layout and calculation work using Civil 3D, with the ability to interpret construction, landscaping, architectural, civil, and mechanical drawings. The role includes regular communication with field crews to support accurate, efficient project delivery, and field experience is considered an asset

Candidates will have strong verbal and written communication skills in English, with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment and communicate clearly with office staff, field crews, and project teams.  All three positions are full-time, on-site roles based in Calgary, Alberta and are not remote. Successful candidates must be able to work in person, either in the field or from the office depending on the position.
